Science and Engineering in Response and Recovery Following the 2010 Haiti Earthquake.

Dr. Wayne Pennington, Chair of the Dept of Geological and Mining Engineering and Sciences at Michigan Tech, and Jefferson Science Fellow at US Agency for International Development, will make a presentation and lead a discussion on aspects of the Haiti earthquake that may be of interest to scientists and engineers interested in development issues and disaster mitigation. Pennington spent 2009-2010 in Washington DC with USAID, and is a member of a UN Development Program Task Force on Seismic Risk Reduction for Haiti.
