PAKISTAN: Recent devastating floods and relief efforts.

According to BBC, the flooding in Pakistan has affected nearly 21 million people and has killed approximately 2,000. An area of more than 160,000 square kilometers--greater thatn the entire size of England, Bangladesh or Cuba- has now been ravaged by floods. 1.2 million homes have been destroyed or badly damaged. 6 million are in need of food, shelter, clean water and health care. Relief funds are desperately needed to keep the disaster from decoming even more devastating.

An overview of the flood events will be presented, the current situation, lessons to be learned as well as ways to help.
